Vocabulary critique is one of the critiques used to evaluate translations of various texts. Garces' (1994) theory is one of the most comprehensive models presented in this type of critique, which radically evaluates the quality of translation and is based on the principle of equality between the source and destination text at four levels: semantic-lexical, syntactic-explicit, discourse-role, and style-cognitive purpose. This research intends to evaluate and critique the lexical choices of Mohaddith Dehlavi's translation of Fotuh al-Ghayb based on the semantic-lexical level of Garces' model by a descriptive-analytical method. For this purpose, after a brief introduction of Mohaddith Dehlavi and his translation, Garces' theory is briefly explained, and then the applicable cases of this theory are mentioned in detail in separate titles on the examples taken from the book. The findings of this study show that the terms of Dehlavi's translation can be evaluated and criticized from the perspective of the components of Garces' theory. In addition to being interpretive, this translation contains many instances of equivalence and similarity, lexical expansion, and ambiguity.

Among these patterns is the proposed model of Carmen Grosses, Four levels are proposed. The present study intends to translate Hadad Adel, Moezi, and Ansarian by selecting from the 29th 30 Quran verses mentioned the model of relying on the Syntax-term construction, criticize and evaluate. For this purpose, firstly, the expression of the Garces model is explicitly dealt with and then the cases of the application of this theory. According to the witnesses, the examples extracted from the translators of sections 29 and 30, based on the syntactic term, are examined. The most important the findings of this research are descriptive-analytic and that according to the Garces model, the only one is the Moezi translation one by one, and that the translation of Ansariān and Haddad is ordinary only as an explanation and extension of meaning. In the remaining cases, each interpreter has gone through the pattern and, finally, the compensation item lacked a Quranic specimen.

This research aims at studying and criticizing Mohammad Dashtee’s selections in his translation from Nahjolbalaghe according to meaning and terminology level of Garces translation assessment. For this purpose, Garces thesis has been introduced, then the elements that were applicable to Dashtee’s translation had been explained in details. The main findings of this research based on analytical-descriptive approach show that Dashtee in his lexical selecting is relying usually on the lexical extension at different models and above all on interpretive and ideological explanation. He has removed lexical ambiguities of Emam Ali’s speech or interpreted them according to his opinion, and tried not to be any ambiguous words in his work.
