Abstract

One of the branches of translation criticism is evaluation for quality level; Among the models of criticism is the Garces model, which is based on the equality between the source and the destination, and examines the translation in four levels: semantic, syntactic, discourse and style. And the adequacy and acceptability of each translation depends on its positive and negative characteristics. The research wants to analyze the mixed content analysis (quantitative-qualitative) method, Shamsabadi and Afzali's translation of the collection of stories " Bait Sayye o Somaah" based on the discourse and stylistic levels of Garces. So the pattern has come and the application of the components of these levels on the examples extracted from the translation. The result is that the translation can be criticized from the point of view of the components of discourse and stylistic levels. Based on the three areas of increase, decrease and decrease, translation in the area of increase has more frequency and has a goal-oriented approach. And the translation is relatively weak in terms of discourse and style due to having negative features that are more numerous than positive features, and it does not have the necessary adequacy and acceptability and needs to be revised. And the translators have benefited from the change in the internal structure of the source text, change due to socio-cultural differences, translator's mistake and maintaining the declaration with the equivalent of the source text more than the rest of the components.
