Abstract

Poetry translation, as one of the most complex fields of literary translation, always faces the risk of losing the originality and depth of concepts, transferring the semantic layers and beauties of the original language to the target language. Therefore, various theories have emerged in this field. One of the most important theories of poetry translation is Gideon Tori's theory of norms, which deals with the process of translation or the act of translation itself. In Persian language, many poems have been translated into different languages, among them the poems of Gilani collection in Arabic language by Mohammad Nuruddin Abdul Moneim. Since the poems of Gilani's anthology contain specific emotional and cultural themes, it requires special care and attention in translation. The translation of the poem “Khaneh Wiran” by Golchin Gilani is the subject of this research, which aims to thoroughly examine and evaluate the Arabic translation of cultural categories, metaphorical concepts, and the musical structure in Persian poetry. The study focuses on fidelity to the original meanings, accuracy in translating cultural expressions, coherence, and executional tone. Moreover, it identifies strengths and weaknesses in the translation and provides recommendations to improve the quality of similar literary translations. The analysis shows that the Arabic translation of Mohammad Nuruddin Abdul Moneim has generally been able to convey the main meanings and emotions of Persian poetry, but in some cases, there is a need for more precision in cultural interpretation and choosing appropriate expressions. Using more precise expressions and descriptions can help improve clarity
