Translating poetry is one of the most difficult types of translation, in which the translator must not only convey the message but also showcase the beauty of the source text. Forough Farrokhzad is one of the contemporary poets whose poems have a large audience in the Arab world, and many Arabic-language translators have turned to translating her poems. Muhammad Noureddine Abdel Moneim is one of the translators who played a significant role in reviving the tradition of translation in Egypt and has translated Forough Farrokhzad's poems under the title "Selections from the Poems of the Iranian Poet". In this article, the aforementioned translation has been criticized and evaluated using Antoine Berman's theory of "deconstructive tendencies" and an analytical-descriptive method. The results of the study indicate that the most distortion of the source text was in the components of destroying the linguistic systematization of the text, word distortion, destroying terms, and rationalization. Given that preserving the authenticity of the source text is very important in poetry translation, Abdul Moneim's translation cannot be considered a desirable and accurate translation.
